This site is dedicated to preserving a slice of Lake Ray Hubbard area history. It documents the three year period in which construction took place of George Bush Turnpike at Interstate 30 in Garland, including the one-mile bridge from Rowlett over Lake Ray Hubbard. The southernmost section of SH 190 between North Garland and Interstate 30 was a long, anticipated project for many. It is now just another section of busy road we travel. Those of us who remember likely no longer appreciate NOT having to drive through Rowlett and/or Downtown Garland in order to reach the tollway and travel north. I captured these images to preserve the memories of my stomping grounds and to give others a chance to look back at a time that will soon be forgotten.
